Wow. What an incredible day we had this weekend at the Four Corner’s Folk Festival up on Reservoir Hill in Pagosa Springs. The weather was perfect and the music was awesome. One day we’d like to camp on the hill with everyone else instead of lugging all the supplies up with three kids, two of whom are in diapers. Next year, perhaps.
Anyway, below are a few photos I snapped and the one video I shot from the VIP area.

Mellane, Evan, Aviana and my brother Chanse hiked up the Piedra River yesterday and explored the falls around the box canyon. This is a great hike where you need to cross the river several times to reach the pools. I had last visited the area back in 2006 before Mellane and I got married. These falls can be accessed from the campgrounds at the end of Forest Service Road 640.
Below is a video showing me getting ready to jump off the rock walls into two deep pools.
We at “All Things Pagosa” are proud to announce the listing of 132 Pagosa Street, a premium commercial property on Hwy 160 across the street from Kip’s Grill & Cantina, between the San Juan River and the San Juan Forest Office.
Pagosa Springs commercial business is primarily tailored to tourists and HWY 160 frontage is paramount to successful exposure to tourists.
What a perfect day for a parade here in Pagosa Springs. This year’s parade was on Saturday, July 3 to accommodate Sunday church services. The temperature was perfect (not too hot) and the skies were perfect Pagosa blue.
Below is a three part video series covering the entire parade with parade participants listed below each video. Please contact me for participant misspellings or omissions.
We at All Things Pagosa are proud to announce the listing of this elegant home in Lake Forest Estates. The home is on a double wooded lot (.73 acres) with greenbelt on two sides.
The home features a heated 2 car attached garage as well as a heated 3rd car garage/workshop for extra Colorado toys or tinkering. This home sits on an immaculately landscaped lot that features at least 20 big, mature ponderosa pine trees, 5 aspen trees and 5 spruce pine trees which can be viewed from either of the two redwood decks. Extra lot is great for an RV or fifth wheel. Living room and master bedroom feature fabulous south facing windows meaning lots of natural light and passive solar heating.
This home has natural gas forced air heating as well as a wood burning stove and a propane heater in the 3rd car garage/workshop. Kitchen overlooks beautiful back yard and features numerous cabinets and an adorable pantry. All this at a great low price and located close to shopping, churches, National Forest, fishing and golf course.
Mention the majestic aspen trees of Pagosa Springs, Colorado and most of us think of the amazing fall colors we experience in the gorgeous Pagosa landscapes. But spring is equally exciting for us locals. Watching the tulips bloom, the grass begin to green and the leaves budding is a sign that a long winter has indeed ended.
Below are photos I took last night as I prepared to put Evan to bed. Mellane was very excited to see that the aspen were just starting to bud in our yard so I thought I would take a few shots for her. Little did I know that I would spend more than an hour photographing this unfolding of nature’s spring brilliance.
Pagosa Springs, Colorado demands that you venture outside. Enjoy the photos and please call me for the best of Pagosa Springs real estate.

Can you see the tiny bug hiding in the picture below? I’ve cropped closer in the subsequent pictures so you can get a better look.
Special thanks again to Billy Joe Willet who describes himself as “a displaced Pagosa Springs refugee. Left this little piece of heaven in the San Juan Mountains at the age of 17 to join the Navy. Honorable discharged after completed a so called kiddie cruise just under four years. Retired from a major aerospace mfg. and now spend my days nursing aches and pains.”
If you love Pagosa, I encourage you to visit his “Please Turn Back the Years” blog where he says: ”Ever wonder why so much effort is put into growing up and achieving great wealth or stardom? If only we could turn back the years, maybe we would have treasured such simple things as a family at meal time saying a simple prayer of thanks for the biscuits and gravy or a special thanks for a chicken leg from your fathers coup.”

Well, it’s 1:15 pm and we still don’t have Verizon cell service here in Pagosa Springs. Verizon wireless urges customers affected by the outage to contact their customer service line but I got was a recording stating : “We are aware of the problem in your area that some customers are having trouble making or receiving calls or both. We’re already working to resolve the issue.”
I stumbled upon these guys while walking with my family on the Riverwalk and fortunately had my camera with me. Unfortunately, I did not have my video camera on me so we have to settle for stop-gap.
